Herb Soda

Calloway and I like to make this soda because we are obsessed with herbs, and well, it's also a great way to use up all the herbs in my mother's garden so they don't go to waste.

Ingredients:
-Handful of herbs
-1 lemon
-1 cup of water
-1/2 of sugar
-Carbonated water

Instructions:
-Gather your favorite herbs; personally, I like to keep it simple and stick to only 1 to 3 different kinds, but as you can see Calloway likes to over do it a bit, but all in all it's gonna turn out great. Here we used Lemon Mint, Spearmint, Thyme, and Basil.

- Once you've gathered your herbs, chop them up and put it all aside.
- Heat up a small sauce pan with 1 cup of water and 1/2 cups of sugar- stir.
-You want to keep stirring until the sugar is fully dissolved (you're basically making a simple syrup).
-Alright, then you want to bring the simple syrup to a boil, and then stir in the herbs.
-Turn off the stove and put the mixture aside and let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes.
-When the syrup is cooled off, strain the mixture into a small container.

Serving:
- Fill your cup with as much ice as you want.
-Spoon in some of your herb syrup (3 to 5 tbs. it depends on how sweet you want it to be).
-Grab a bottle of your favorite brand of carbonated water and pour it into the mixture.
-If you want to add a little kick to it, you have the option of squeezing in a lemon, or a lime.
